MCC Logo Design and Sports Branding Campaign

For 130 years, the Milwaukee City Conference has been the foundation for athletics at Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS). In July of 2023, Bobbie Kelsey, the MPS Commissioner of Athletics and Academics, approached Nicolette Lara to develop a logo that could represent the conference. Until that point, our athletics programs were branded with the MPS logo and did not have a separate mark. After the developing a brand strategy and brand identity systems our conversations quickly became more ambitious when we realized the potential to create a comprehensive brand, comparable to college athletics.
